Lost In Translation (UNGHOSTING aka "Customized")

So in SharePoint 2007, Microsoft has stopped using term "ghosting" and "unghosting" instead they now use "customized" and "uncustomized"

REASON : "Ghosting" does not translate well with other languages : ) .. So it took three releases to figure this out ??? And you would think R&D team will consult localization team before coining such terms :)


For those of you never heard of this term, GHOSTING is a feature in in SharePoint which allows FP web server to store the .aspx page on local machine. UNGHOSTING or now "customized" means the .aspx pages are stored in SQL server to maintain versions and share between different Front End servers
